One only has
to look at what The Bible has to say about Satan to get an
accurate
picture of the events concerning the beginning of recorded history.
Lucifer was the worship leader in
heaven, the #1 angel. The light reflected
from God, so
brightly off of Lucifer, that he fooled himself into believing that he was just
as great as God.
This description of Lucifer is given
in Isa 14:12 in talking about the overthrow of
the king of Babylon. Verses 13 &14 of the same chapter describe
Lucifer's
attitude.
Ez 28:13,14
says he (Satan) was in Eden, I believe a picture of Satan's past is drawn here
by The Spirit of God in talking about the overthrow of the king of Tyre. In
this instance the accuser is even put at the scene of the crime by the most
credible witness possible. "You were in Eden, the garden of God;"
In the New Testament Jesus talks
about seeing Satan falling as "lightning
from
heaven" ( Lk 10:18).
In summary, I believe that Lucifer
tried to be equal to God, was cast
out of Heaven
and given the earth and the air between to inhabit (Eph
2:2). God, in His desire for someone to have a relationship with,
created Adam and gave him the Earth. This worried Satan, that is why he tried to
get Adam to disobey God. When Adam disobeyed, Satan thought he had defeated
God.
The fact that the world was
recreated (Pslms136:6,7) is why science and The Bible do not conflict.
Fossils of dinosaurs and plant life dating back millions of years are
undeniable in their authenticity.
The earth was without form and void
(Ge1:2), the book of Genesis is not the
beginning of the earth or time, just man.
